The Petri Net Model

enginecarcar
As a first step to designing and implementing a control program, the model railway as a complex system has been modelled using coloured Petri Nets. Design/CPN is used as the major tool for development and simulation.

A rather complex Petri net model of our model railway, designed by Wolfgang Hielscher and Lars Urbszat, is now available along with a paper describing their solution. This paper was accepted for the First Workshop and Tutorial on Practical Use of Coloured Petri Nets and Design/CPN, held at Aarhus University in June 1998.

If you are interested in all the details of the net model, you'll find the net plans as a Postscript-file along with a documentation (in German), which focuses more on the technical aspects of the net implementation.
