My life in LEGO ®
I have reconstructed various parts of my life in LEGO models, all to the same scale. After all, you should live what you preach...
- Our house is an old Amsterdam canal house. We have two cats.
- I get around by bike.
- My office has a desk with all things you would expect on it: workstation, desk calendar, shelves, a phone, an adjustable office chair.
- We like taking photographs: here is our camera, with telephoto lens and flash.
- Here's a lifestyle item: the bookminder, a device to hold open your book for you. Very useful!
Town
- An ice cream vendor's tricycle.
- A steerable classic car.
- A motor cycle.
- The LEM , the Lunar Excursion Module from the Apollo program.
- The ingredients for a Christmas nativity scene.
Trains
- An electrically operated switching point.
- An electric car separator.
- Self-resetting switches.
- A rewiring of the power supply to get the power out (you will need to do some soldering!).
- A track crossing you can build yourself!
- A spring-loaded endstop for your tracks.
- A little steam locomotive.
- A steam locomotive basis, permitting realistic rods on the wheels.
- An old Dutch streetcar.
My personal LEGO TECHNIC ® Idea Book
- A working LEGO clock!
- A fully functional fixed axle helicopter rotor, also usable as table fan.
- A Stewart platform is a parallel robot platform, similar to that used in flight simulators.
- A Killough platform for mobile robots, with a very symmetrical powering of the motions.
- A 6 DOF robot arm.
- An electric piston (a.k.a. translational joint).
- A spherical joint, electrically operated.
- An adder/subtractor device, convenient for treaded vehicles, and for the bucket.
- Linkages, and especially the Peaucellier cell (which converts rotary motion into rectilinear motion).
- A remotely controllable bucket, and its hoisting rig.
- A walking leg, which makes the proper motions using only 1 motor.
- A fully animated walking dinosaur towing a cart.
- Modified T-Rex neck 8485, to make it shake!
- Modified crane 8460, to prevent it from turning too easily.
- Switching between motors.
- Power selector.
- Grippers.
- Pinions.
- MINDSTORMS car platform.
- Geneva mechanism.
- Soccer ball.
