Numerical simulations

Numerical simulation allow us as scientists to ask and answer questions of the form "what if we were to...?". This is because in simulations we are easily able to stop, start or even reverse time; push or pull on particles; heat or cool systems; inflate stretch or compress space; and to carry out all of these manipulations while maintaining total control of all degrees of freedom, and with effectively limitless resultion. This power often allows us to gain deep physical insights about the behavior of model systems, and to test ideas and theories in non-trivial ways.

In my research, numerical simulations are a key tool; part of my reseach is therefore devoted to the development of both simulational and numerical analysis tools.
