I develop tools and theories for ecological and environmental modeling to:

• optimally choose and align analysis steps in the research cycle;
• adequately establish and describe uncertainty in analysis workflows;
• compare and connect different types of models.

And the contexts in which I develop these tools and theories, are:

• animal movement to learn about behaviour and ecology;
• vegetation reconstruction using model-based source apportionment;
• land-slide occurrence in mountainous terrain;
• atmospheric transport and deposition of nitrogen
