Course 'Design and Organisation of Autonomous Systems'

This is the information of year 2009

The project-sites of the previous years are 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.

• To know the concepts that are important in the design of Intelligent Autonomous Systems.
• To understand the problems that are to be solved.
• To identify the solutions found.
• To create a reference framework to situate future developments.

Format

Project assignment

• Perform a literature study to get acquinted with the existing autonomous system and the state-of-the-art on the subject of the new algorithm.
• Make a clear assignment of tasks to the members of the team.
• Document the technical progress during the project.
• Finalize the project with an article and review the articles of the others.
• Present the results of the project on a mini-conference with external invites.

  Shimon Whiteson
  The Battlecode competition is an annually held competition by MIT. Here teams from around the world have to develop autonomous players for a real time strategy game.
  These games center around capturing strategic positions on the map using different types of agents and trying to coordinate all units to perform this task (See the battlecode website for more info).

  In this project the students will develop a basic parameterized strategy, determine good ways to adapt to the map (environment modeling) and the opponents strategy (opponent modeling) and use a learning method to learn optimal ways of how to adapt.
