• ICT-ESC-FNWI suggested this page on bitlock issues.
• Tried Manage-bde -status c: which gives that the current status is that the protection is ON, the device is unlocked, and there are several key protectors, including TPM and more than 10 numerical passwords.
• Because the status looked OK, but associated the TPM again with Manage-bde -protectors -delete c: -type TPM and Manage-bde -protectors -add c: -tpm.
• Seems to work, but not rebooted (yet). When executing Manage-bde -status c: again, TPM is now the last in the lsit (instead of the first, as previous was the case).

• Finally looking at my XPS Linux-partition again.
• Connected the XPS with an ethernet cable.
• Used the Ubuntu recovery mode, enabled network and entered as root.
• Did an sudo apt update, followed by sudo apt upgrade. 69 packages were upgraded, including the mesa-vulkan drivers. Saw no nvidia-upgrades. Saw an error: dm.service is not active, cannot reload.
• Did a reboot, and regular Ubuntu 24.04 works again, even on three screens.
• Only get an error error connecting to /tmp/tmux-1000/default. That was an experimental line in my .bashrc, commented it out; error gone.
• There are 7 packages hold back. One of them is libspdlog1, which as side-effect removes many ros-humble packages. Are ros-humble and Ubuntu 24.04 a combination? According to ROS 2 Jazzy is a good choice, although rolling should be the latest version independent choice.
• Only ROS-noetic is installed on the XPS workstation.
• All hold-back packages are working again.
• Looking if Francisco 's ROS2 book simulation-code works better with Rolling-branch (or Jazzy, 11 commits ahead, 26 commits behind rolling). The book recommends Jazzy, so will try this first.
