I was born in Jianhu, a small town in Jiangsu, China. I studied in Nanjing Normal University (1989~1993, NJNU), East China Normal University (1993~1996, ECNU) for a bachelor and master degree respectively. During the past years, I was involved in a number of EU and Dutch projects. Current, I am a researcher in University of Amsterdam. I am also involved in the SP2.5 of VL-e for developing generic e-Science workflow systems. I am also active in the collaboration between UvA and Chinese research institutes.

  1. Agent based modelling and engineering (Agent-based technology can potentially solve complex, dynamic decision processes that are distributed.   2. High Level Architecture (A middleware for distributed interactive simulation systems. The basic concepts of HLA include: federates, federation, and Runtime infrastructure (RTI), Object Model Template (OMT), and HLA (federation and RTI) rules. You can find the definition of these concepts in the RTI specification. The RTI specification from US DoD is 1.3 Next generation. And DoD also released implementation of the RTI. The latest version is 1.3NG V5. After that DoD authorizes commercial companies to develop the software of RTI. Most of the non-DoD RTI vendors follow the RTI specification that is standardized as IEEE 1516.
