Forensic Intelligence

forensics

Introduction

As society becomes more and more intertwined with the use of computers, so does crime, and so does the job of law enforcement. The field of forensic intelligence tries to cope with this development by doing research on new techniques to solve crimes and to solve new types of crime. In this research theme we address problems ranging from analyzing multimedia data on disks and surveilance cameras for suspect content and behaviour, biometric identification using fingerprints or iris scans, mining in large databases of crime information to find related crimes, to the 3-D reconstruction of the crime scene.
