My wife and I on Mauna Kea, Hawai'i

I work as a PhD student at the Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS) Group (which is part of ISLA) of the Informatics Institute, University of Amsterdam (UvA).

My research is done within the Enhanced Situation Awereness (ESA) cluster of the Interactive Collaborative Information Systems (ICIS) project under the supervision of Gregor Pavlin.

The ICIS project is hosted by the DECIS Lab, the open research partnership of the UvA, Thales Nederland, the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and the Dutch Foundation of Applied Scientific research (TNO)

Within this project I will mainly focus on learning (causal) Bayesian networks in the context of data and sensor fusion systems. In addition, I also have a strong interest in the following fields:

  • Reasoning under uncertainty in general (but particularly distributed inference in Bayesian networks);
  • Causality;
  • Multiagent systems.
