Statistical Physics and Condensed Matter Theory |
We use the book Statistical Mechanics made simple by D.C. Mattis, (world scientific 2003) (ISBN 981-238-166-X paperback en 981-238-165-1 hardcover)
In spite of its title this book treats, besides basic and advanced subjects in statistical mechanics also a number of subjects that traditionally are reckoned to belong to the realm of condensed matter physics. A selection of the sections will be made during the course (and appear here.)
As always, also some rather important subjects are missing that, in my
view, a Master in Physics must understand. I will try to resolve
this by handouts.
