Welcome!
I work in the University of Amsterdam, in the high energy group of the astronomical institute "Anton Pannekoek", a leading group in the study of accretion onto compact objects (the process by which matter falls onto neutron stars and black holes). We focus mainly on X-rays coming from the vicinity of Galactic black holes and neutron stars that accrete gas from a low mass (companion and donor) star. The luminosity and energy spectrum of these objects vary in a wide range of timescales, from years to milliseconds, offering an ever-moving window to the extreme physics of compact objects.
I am completing my PhD thesis under the supervision of prof. dr. Michiel van der Klis. Below you can find details about my work.
      • Research interests: neutron stars, black holes, X-ray binaries, accretion flows and accretion states, fast X-ray variability, thermonuclear bursts.
      • My CV (June 2009):
