STAR FORMATION
In my PhD project, I’m studying the physical structure and chemical composition of protostars, using spectra from the Herschel Space Observatory and other telescopes and doing chemical and radiative transfer modelling. See e.g. Kama et al. (2010). My thesis advisor is Carsten Dominik. To explore beautiful images from Herschel, click here.
PLANET FORMATION
For my MSc thesis, working with Michiel Min and Carsten Dominik, I studied dust evaporation in protoplanetary discs and applied this in modelling their inner regions (Kama et al. 2009). This work is now continuing with a focus on debris discs.
PLANETS & LIFE
The unifying themes of my professional interests are planets around our Sun and other stars and life in the Universe.
