Curriculum Vitae
|
Maarten van Someren (1955) studied Psychology in
Amsterdam. He spent one year as a researcher at the Dutch Royal Air
Force and one year as a graduate student at the Department of Artificial
Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh.
Since 1985 he has been working at the Department of Social Science
Informatics, teaching Artificial Intelligence, Prolog, Cognitive Modelling
and Machine Learning. His current interests include (i) machine learning with
applications in knowledge engineering and (ii) modelling human learning and
problem solving. He is co-author with J. Sandberg and Y. Barnard of a book on
the Think Aloud Method. He was
coordinator of MLNET II (Network of Excellence in Machine Learning) and COIL
(Cluster of Networks on Computational Intelligence). Recent interests are
adaptive interactive systems and multi-agent learning. Organized many
conferences and workshops, including the Belgian-Dutch
Artificial Intelligence Conference BNAIC 2001.
