The structural homology between phosphate and sulphate and the interesting phosphate transfer catalyzed by phosphatases prompted us to study sulfatases.
We have successfully expressed and purified a new arylsulfotransferase that is able to sulfate a number of phenolic compounds using p-nitrophenylsulfate as sulfate donor.
