At the University my group studies learning and adaptive models for sensing, reasoning and interaction. At the Hogeschool we work on applications in smart houses, robotics and human-robot interaction. I lead the Digital Life Centre, where students carry out research in real world environments.

- November 23, 16.00h.:
Because I became professor in 'Ambient Robotics' I held my inaugural speech on 'Living in a Robot'. The full speech is available as web lecture. In my speech I focussed on the societal developments, the technology, the impact on novel research methods like 'living labs' and their role for the educational programs.
- November 18: AmI-11 is over. It was a great conference! .
- November 3 we had the closing conference of the 'Zorgen voor Morgen' project. For more info see my blog space .
- Last week we had the kick-off of a new FP7 project ACCOMPANY. See my blog space October 14 2011.
- A nice report on our work in sensormonitoring of elderly and cameras for falldetection was shown on RTL News June 5 2011.
- As of March 1, I am fully employed by the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA) as lector and scientific director of 'Create-IT'. I have a 0.2 position as 'professor by special appointment' (bijzonder hoogleraar) Ambient Robotics at the University of Amsterdam.
