I am a Ph.D. candidate (promovendus) at the Institute for Language, Logic and Computation (ILLC) and the department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Humanities, at the University of Amsterdam. My doctoral supervisors are Robert van Rooij, Martin Stokhof and Frank Veltman, and my work is partly funded by the Vagueness (VAAG) project.

The doctoral project proposes to investigate a back-and-forth relationship between certain vague expressions --- predicates of personal taste and relative gradable adjectives --- and semantic normativity. The "forth" side is an inquiry into the normative features of the linguistic meaning of these classes vague expressions as studied by formal semanticists and pragmaticists. The "back" side is an application of the case of these vague expressions as a test to evaluate different sources of semantic normativity.

In short, I am interested in the epistemology of formal disciplines that are concerned with natural language, and in the normative constraints on the linguistic behaviour of (human) agents.
