I graduated as a PhD student at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Frans Groen was my promotor and I was directly supervised by Nikos Vlassis and Arnoud Visser . On February 12th 2010 I succesfully defended my thesis, titled Value-Based Planning for Teams of Agents in Stochastic Partially Observable Environments . My PhD research focused on multiagent decision making under uncertainty In particular, I investigated settings in which a team of agents has to perform a task without communication and in which the agents cannot observe the true state of their environment (i.e., the environment is partially observable). Such situations can be modeled by decentralized POMDPs (Dec-POMDPs) and partially observable stochastic games (POSGs). |
My PhD research was part of
the Interactive
Collaborative Information Systems (ICIS) project.
Before my PhD, I did my master in artificial intelligence at the UvA, specialization Multi-modal intelligent systems. My MSc. graduation research focused on game-theoretic and AI methods for dealing with (small) poker games. For more information see here.
