Compiler Construction: Introduction to Compiler design

Literature + course material

• Recommended, not compulsory: Seti, Aho and Ullman,``Compilers Principles, Techniques and Tools'' (the Dragon book)
• Sheets
  
• Parsing (LEX & YACC): html, pdf-file, or PowerPoint.
• Optimization, dataflow analysis, backend issues.
  

Course schedule

• Lectures: wednesdays, 1pm-3pm, room G0.05. NOTE: lecture of 16 November has been moved to 17 November, 3pm-5pm!
  
• Lab sessions: fridays, 11am-1pm, D1.111  
  

Practical assignment

• A peephole optimizer (deadline: 1 january 2012)

Take-home assignments

• Take home opgave 1 (deadline: 30 november, 13 uur)
• Take home opgave 2 (deadline: 14 december, 13 uur)

Grading & deadlines

• The grade of this part of the language processing course consists of two components: practical assignment (80%) and take-home assignment(s) (20%). The weights of these components may be subject to fine-tuning.
• The deadlines will be announced at the first lecture.
