• LIW (Large Instruction Word) instructions containing 3 operations (1 arithmetic, 1 memory and 1 branch/simple arithmetic)
• Tagged memory
  • Setting traps on memory locations
  • Forwarding (invisible indirection)
  • Synchronization (full/empty bit), e.g. a read does not complete until the full bit is set
