Research on the Grid Technology

In this page, we will stated some of the our current research interests. All the research topics to be described here are related to Grid technology. We are currently investigating this technology within the new research program Virtual Laboratory for e-science as part of the ICESKIS III (continuation of the project VLAM-G part of ICESKIS II). The VL-E project is following the same targets as the VLAM project which is developing a platform allowing scientists working at geographically distributed sites to use all the resources (hardware and software) available at all sites to perform their experiments. The VL-E project will start from the achievements accomplished in the VLAM-G project to investigate in more details the issues pointed out but left open in the VLAM-G project.

Where VLAM-G components are running now

VLAM-G version-1.0 (stable):
  1. the VLAM-G toolkit is deployed on fs2 under /home/vlamg/vlam_NoSM.
  2. The vimco server is running on node200 (started from the vldemo account).
  3. The database are runnning on node200

  5. There is a draft of the VLAM-G user's Guide version 1.0 DOC FILE
VLAM-G version-1.1 (under test, only for VL developers)
  1. the VLAM-G toolkit is not yet deployed on fs2
  2. The vimco server is running on node202 (started from Djamal's account).
  3. The database are runnning on node202
  4. for now the databases are running on pc-vlab15
  5. There is a draft of the VLAM-G user's Guide version 1.1 DOC FILE
